So it seems with our gas prices. It, just,seemed like yesterday when we were paying $2.00 a gallon gas. Now, the prices are $3.50 and above. Will we get to see $5.00 a gallon gas? It seems possible with the summer looming near.

Traditionally, Summer is the season when gas prices skyrocket. Will we see the people throw caution to the wind, using their cars for long distance driving and pay those ridiculous prices? Will the airlines hike their fees to make up for the gas? By the look of things, this can, indeed, be the LONG HOT SUMMER!!

With President Obama planning to run for re-election, this isn’t good news for him. Sure, we will hear cries of drill now and let’s get off this dependence of oil. Look for the conservatives to try to move up bills to get the drilling process going in the house, only to be stopped by the majority of Democrats. When politicians play gridlock, the people suffer.

We have the resources in America to get us out of Oil dependence in the Middle East and we let a few special interest groups stop us. The environmentalist say that it is not healthy for the country. What about Saudi Arabia?  Who speaks for the environment there? In the upcoming elections, we will see our share of conservatives making promises and scoring points with the people but will they follow through. Back room politics are a bear!

We need to put our politician’s feet to the fire. It is a shame that by the time 2012 arrives, America will forget these gas hikes. Most likely what will happen, people will use less and less their cars and gas will have to, eventually, come down. More and more American needs to get informed because knowledge is power.
